How it works:

The MOTOmed Layson helps to balance lack of movement in patients confined to bed. Patients can use the MOTOmed Layson to train in a passive, motor-assisted, and active mode, from a hospital bed or a therapy chair. The MOTOmed Layson provides a well-rounded therapy to patients in stationary care. It can also be effectively applied in home care.

Features of the MOTOmed Layson

  • 1: TrainCare with plastic-coated leg guides
  • 2: Expandable chassis
  • 3: Knee bending adjustment
  • 4: Removeable colour touch display
  • 5: Disinfectable handles & forearm shells both with turning crank and quick release system
  • 6: All fixation straps are made from elastomer and are disinfectable

Movement therapy in supine position

The orange coloured adjustment wheels and knobs on the MOTOmed layson models have a calling character. The reduction to few operatin elements enables a quick and effective handling in everyday clinical routine. The functions and programs are set directly on the colour touch display.

With the assistance of the pneumatic spring supported height adjustment the nursing staff can position the MOTOmed layson in the correct height without steps and effort. Due to the free revolvable castors it can be moved easily and flexibly. The nursing staff optimally adjusts the MOTOmed Movement Therapy device intuitively with few simple steps to the patient’s requirements. The comfortable ground fixation provides the MOTOmed layson with a safe and strong stand.

Depending on the requirements and the possiblity the nursing staff can move the MOTOmed layson to the bed from three different positions: from the front and the side – the left or the right side. Similar to the expandable chassis the parallel chassis can be varied in width.

Intensive care and early mobilisation

In intensive care and in early mobilisation MOTOmed Movement Therapy can contribute to a substantial improvement of the patient’s general condition. Patients in supine position can train passively, assistively or actively from nursing bed or therapy couch. In addition to the general therapy benefits such as mobilisation, regulating the muscle tone or boosting circulation, the MOTOmed layson is also used for ventilation weaning and during hemodialysis treatment. The MOTOmed Movement Therapy can contribute to reducing the length of stay in intensive care.
